Artist residency at Buck’s Mills Cabin.
The Cabin is a tiny studio perched on the cliffs, looking onto the beach and  across Bideford Bay. It was used by Judith Ackland and Mary Stella Edwards, who lived and painted there until Judith’s death in 1971.It is now owned by the National Trust, who have preserved it in their memory- exactly as the two women left it.
I was there in the first two sunny weeks of September. I made paintings from the landscape and some from imagination that reflect Judith and Mary’s quiet unhurried meditative approach. I am grateful to them and to the National Trust.
